MY 1/43rd SCALE SPORTS CAR MODEL COLLECTION
I have been collecting diecast and resin models for some years. There are 2 categories that I collect; Sports Racing Cars from 1950 - 1966 and Formula 1 cars from 1950 - 1965. (see below)
In the first major modification to my collection criteria since I began collecting, I have decided to expand into 1966 with the sports cars. There are seveal reasons for this but I confess that the main one is so that I can collect the Ford GT.40 teams from the Le Mans race of that year. Every Ford in that race (more than a dozen of them) was a different colour. At the time of writing - 26th April 2007 - I do not know how many are actually available; time will tell.
Below you will find an image of every one of my sports car collection, along with the name of the car, who drove it; where they drove it and how it got on. There is also the name of the model manufacturer.
There may well be errors in the information - I guess that's inevitable, so please feel free to e-mail me at the address below if you have any comments/corrections to make. I promise I won't take it personally!
Following a suggestion from Ian Hind, a fellow collector from Australia, I have re-listed this collection in chronological order.... Thanks for the idea, Ian!
Click on any image to see a larger version.
The above-mentioned Ian has put me on to this idea... any new models I obtain will be shown at the top of the page for a while before being inserted into the main list in their correct chronological position.
